Revised H1B rules may affect entry level software programmers


The US Citizenship and Immigration Service has released a revised set of H-1B guidelines dated March 31, 2017, which will hit entry-level ‘software programmers’ and IT companies applying for work visas this H-1B season, which opened Monday.

Any idea if this will impact current H1-B workers who might be up for renewals?


Perhaps. Depending on whether your credentials and background match with the current requirements. If you are in the entry level category, there could be additional questions asked. I haven’t heard anything negative so far in this front. So fingers crossed. Hopefully it won’t affect renewals.


I agree. Hope is really lost with this administration I guess.
